Special Olympics Plymouth & District are thrilled that one of our athletes Steven Dodd has been selected for the GB team .
He will be travelling to London on Thursday March 7th on the first leg of his journey to Abu Dhabi.
This will be the 15th Special Olympics World Summer Games and will take place from 14-21 March and will be the first time the Games will be held in the Middle East.
Steven will join 7,000 other athletes all of whom have an Intellectual Disabilities from 170 Countries.
Special Olympics Plymouth & District wish Steven and all the competitors taking part in this spectacular event best Wishes, good luck and above all enjoy the experience.

'SOPD' is short for Special Olympics Plymouth and District. We are a sporting club where people with Intellectual (Learning) Difficulties are able to join with the goal of becoming an SOPD athlete and compete as part of the Special Olympics team.
We are part of the overall Special Olympics initiative where over 7,000 athletes compete year to year around the world.
