Charity Ball a Resounding Success

Special Olympics Plymouth held a Charity Ball at the Duke of Cornwall on Friday 27th September.

It was a very well attended event which was enjoyed by everyone who attended. The food was excellent, the live entertainment provided by The Wireless and the magician Lewis were superb and the fantastic team from Santander worked so well to make sure the games of higher and lower and the table draw ran smoothly. The auctioneer Nick ran the auction with professionalism and flare enticing the guests to part with their money for the amazing prizes. Steven Dodd training for team GB

SOPD Athlete Steven Dodd Selected for Team GB

Special Olympics Plymouth & District are thrilled that one of our athletes Steven Dodd has been selected for the GB team .

He will be travelling to London on Thursday March 7th on the first leg of his journey to Abu Dhabi.

This will be the 15th Special Olympics World Summer Games and will take place from 14-21 March and will be the first time the Games will be held in the Middle East.
Steven will join 7,000 other athletes all of whom have an Intellectual Disabilities from 170 Countries.

Special Olympics Plymouth & District wish Steven and all the competitors taking part in this spectacular event best Wishes, good luck and above all enjoy the experience.
