Special Olympics Gret Britain recently announced the host city for the upcoming National Summer Games in 2013. As our target was to send Athletes to the next Summer Games, we can now reveal we hope to represent the Southwest Region in…wait for it…the Southwest Region!

The City hosting the next National Summer Games, IN the Southwest Region is Bath.

The city of Bath and Bath University are the Hosts for the next Games and will be offering the chance to compete in 14 sports disciplines, which are:

Artistic Gymnastics, Athletics, Badminton, Bocce, Boccia, Cycling, Football, Golf, Judo, Netball, Rythmic Gymnastics, Table Tennis, Tennis and Short Mat Bowls.

Over the coming weeks Athletes will be deciding which disciplines they wish to compete in, so we are able to move forward with our training and planning programme.

There is only a small amount of information so far but we will keep you all updated as more is released.
